πŸ“š Review: Running Scared
Baycliff Valley #4 by H K Brown
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Janelle & Eli
πŸ’– Single Mom
🏠 Protective MMC
πŸ’– Abusive Ex-Husband
🏠 Second Chance Love
πŸ’– Wounded FMC
🏠 Forced proximity

πŸ’– After escaping an abusive marriage, Janelle is convinced the trauma she experienced means never letting anyone close enough to hurt her or her children again. Enter Eli Boyd. His genuine kindness and natural connection with her kids has her thinking again until he suddenly announces their fake marriage the Judge!

🏠 “Janelle, my love for you is as endless as the sky.”

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is a sweet story of learning to trust and love again. I ached for how strong Janelle had to be to protect her kids, dealing with financial hardships, and an abusive ex-husband who won’t go away. And cried when Eli dedicated himself to breaching Janelle’s walls.

πŸ“š The Innkeeper: The Kinkades #4
πŸ–‹ Author ~ Dr. Rebecca Sharp
πŸ–‹ Features: Romance, Contemporary, Forced Proximity, Enemies To Lovers, Small Town Romance, Fiction
Rating: 5/5

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lou & Wade
Billionaire Hero
🏑 Enemies To Lovers
Small Town Romance
🏑 Forbidden Romance
Fake Boyfriend Brother
🏑 Good Girl

Dad’s attention to me didn’t equate to affection. So, here we were. A prestigious lawyer. A famous actor. A wealthy widow. One big, wildly dysfunctional family.

🏑 …and Lou who will keep them all together…

I’ve been a fan of Rebecca’s. I started with The Vigilantes and have continued with The Kinkades. Rebecca has a fantastic way of blending a quirky small-town family with characters I can’t help but fall in love with. I’ve been waiting to read Lou’s story, and I was not disappointed. Lou has such an incredible capacity for caring, for putting other people first, that she will almost always set what she needs or wants aside.

I was in a constant state of anxiety for this woman, who had once been content to let her twin take the spotlight, is now suddenly shoved into center stage. Lou brings out all my emotions as she struggles to hold on to the only dream she believes she’ll ever have. While others find love and romance, Lou has her beloved inn, the guests she takes care of, and her very eclectic family. But Wade, observant and discerning, can see the real Lou that she tries to hide behind her constantly effervescent twin.

This is Lou and Wade’s chance at a forever love if they can be honest with each other, themselves, and their family. What started as a miscommunication tumbles into a series of half-truths and relentless paparazzi that can’t leave Lou and her unintentional fake boyfriend alone.

πŸ’Œ Favorite Moments:

πŸ–‡ I felt something for Wade that I’d never felt before for anyone. A yearning I tried to ignore—tried to box up and put aside like I’d done with so many other wants over the course of my life, but it wouldn’t let me. He wouldn’t let me.

πŸ–‡ She didn’t see that she was the glue between all of them. The one that brought all their different edges together. That flowed through the rough patches and sharp corners.

Shattered Dreams
King's Crossing #6 by V.M. Rheault

πŸ’Ž I’m literally reading like my life depends on what happens to Zarah & Gage!!! I want to shout - DON’T get on that plane!!!

🐾 This is the series finale. WOW! Six books and two couples. King’s Crossing is best read in order because – Cliffhangers. It’s a complicatedly intriguing story full of damages, danger, and romance. Like a game of chess, the players are never what they seem.

⭐️ 5 out of 5! This series never loses momentum. I can’t wait to read more V.M. Rheault.

πŸ“š Sins & Riley: Sins of the Syndicate #8
πŸ–‹ Author ~ Lexxi James
⭐️ Rating: 5/5

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dante & Riley
πŸ–€ Captivity
πŸ’Ž Mafia Romance

🚨 Know before you go:
πŸ“This is an enemies-to-lovers mafia romance, darker than the first three SINS books.
πŸ“Heat level: Scorching
πŸ“This book contains dark situations that may be triggering.

The fallen king whose absence still haunts our family. Vanished in thin air nearly six years ago like vape smoke in a Vegas casino.

Dante D’Angleo and his beastly alter-ego will stop at nothing to discover the truth behind his father’s disappearance. For six heartbreaking years, the D’Angleo brothers have survived, flourished, and struggled to cope with not only their father’s uncertain fate, but also the vicious attack on their sister. However strong-willed Riley Mullvain was not part of Dante’s plan. But, he will do everything in his power to protect his family, including his sassy sister-in-law, who just happens to be Riley. That he just can’t stay away from her is, in equal parts, as exhilarating as it is frustrating for Dante.

Dante and Riley’s story is an incredible read! The pages just kept turning themselves just like the pages of Riley’s private journal. My heart stuttered when Dante … well, let me just say there’s so much heat and tension in this book that it nearly set my reader on fire. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions. Sins & Riley is an interconnected series. So, it’s recommended to read in order to fully appreciate the characters and their motivations.

πŸ’Œ Favorite Moments:

πŸ–‡ Life has a way of torching childhood castles.

πŸ–‡ What I feel for Riley isn’t love. It’s resurrection.

πŸ–‡ I want it all. And I will have it. Power. Protection. Retribution. Revenge. And the mother of my heir.

Review: ICED: The Raptors Series Book Three

ICED: The Raptors Series Book Three ICED: The Raptors Series Book Three by Caroline Easton

πŸ“š ICED: The Raptors Series #3 (Standalone)
πŸ–‹ Author ~ Caroline Easton
πŸ–‹ Features: Sports Romance, Hockey Romance, Contemporary Romance
⭐️ Rating: 5/5

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Maya & Owen
πŸ’ Hockey romance
πŸ’ Protector MMC
🧁 Single mum
🧁 Strong FMC
πŸ’ Second chances
🧁 Ex-boyfriend
πŸ’ Found family

Owen “Jacko” Jackson, the Enforcer for his Raptors’ hockey team, community service is perfect for a guy who works through his emotions with baking. He has mad baking skills. At the community kitchen, he’s assigned to assist Maya. Trying to stay under the radar, the last thing she needs, though, is attention, especially not from a man with fists like sledgehammers and a smile that melts her guard. But Owen bakes cupcakes, reads bedtime stories, and makes her daughter believe in superheroes. Worse? He makes her believe in second chances.

Caroline Easton is a new author for me. And, I will definitely add her books to my TBR list. Even though I started with the 3rd book in the series, there are enough details that Maya and Owen’s story unfolds seamlessly. What I loved about this book, aside from being set in England, was the phraseology, in that I could almost hear the characters, their voices, phrasing, and diction as I read. There’s a depth of experiences, emotions from both Maya and Owen. And, I love how Owen is attracted to Maya’s strength, her fears, and that she doesn’t have to be perfect…she just has to be real.

πŸ’Œ Favorite Moments:

πŸ–‡ I might be built for battle, but I’m about to learn how to fight for something a hell of a lot more important than a puck.

πŸ–‡ Her cheeks are flushed, hair tied back in a messy ponytail, forearms dusted in flour. She looks like art. Domestic, radiant chaos.

πŸ–‡ But fear isn’t rational. It clings to every corner of my brain.

πŸ–‡ Lila’s laugh echoes through the park like a song I didn’t know I’d been waiting to hear.

πŸ–‡ “I don’t want you to save me,” she says. “I just want to feel like I can stand beside you.”
