Dark Road From Sunrise (Book 5) features Patterson Blake's continuing search for her missing sister. I've enjoyed reading Patterson's emotional journey as she leaves behind her last known living relative to follow in her sister's footsteps in hopes to discover the truth. WIth only a few decades old postcards to guide her, Patterson is determined to find out what happened. Along the way, her curious nature uncovers a multitude of other crimes which she helps to solve. I recommend reading the series from the beginning.

Back Against the Wall (Lindell Book 1) is an incredible story involving former pro-hockey player Chase Woodson and Madison Kelly, his twin son's new nanny. I loved reading the evolution of their romance as they struggle to overcome past hurts where their trust and faith in each other is tested. 

Together, they have the boys' best interest at heart. They do everything in their control to make sure the boys have the love and support they need despite Chase's neglectful ex-wife. Chase an amazing guy. He has moved beyond the fame and female adoration that comes along with his former professional hockey status. I'm in love with his desire to prove his love and commitment to Madison.

Instant attraction leads Makaylie into Cain's dark world where he is second-in-command. Behind the dominate and controlling nature, Makaylie can sense Cain's desire to be a better man, especially for her. And, Cain must do everything in his power to protect the woman he is falling in love with.

Flack (Guardian Security Shadow World Book 10) is another fantastic addition to the Shadow series. I truly enjoyed Flack's story. His story is unique as he suddenly must decide whether to take on the responsibility of his orphaned niece. His career as a Shadow for Guardian Security however makes his decision difficult. But, Flack has an amazing support team for 'as long as it takes!'

One last mission in the field takes Flack and his niece's new nanny, Addy out of the country. I loved how Flack and Addy faced danger together, keeping the little girl they love safe. Addy, in spite of a career altering injury, is an amazing addition to Flack's instant family and Guardian Security.

“I guess you’ll have to wait and read my book, Detective.”

Box of Secrets is a fantastic mystery involving a hidden box of high school mementos, a missing teen, an unnamed older boyfriend, and a sexy detective. I absolutely loved Sarah's determination for a fresh start in her hometown after an exhausting career as a crime reporter and her desire to create a less stressful life for herself. Although, she says she's through with investigating, Sarah can't turn her back on the mysterious box and the possibility to solve a decades old crime. 

Detective Ryan Carter is a perfect match for Sarah. Both are committed to searching for the truth to uncover everything they can about a missing teen. Their probing puts Sarah in danger which leads to Ryan's decision to protect Sarah from whoever doesn't want them to solve the case. With each turn, it seems the case gets more complicated even as the two discover more to the story. 

Box of Secrets is a wonderful page-turning romantic mystery. It was refreshing to watch Sarah and Ryan's relationship grow as they hunt for the truth in their normally peaceful town. I hope there are more mysteries in the future for Sarah and Ryan.

Salvation is a dark former Mafia forbidden romance. This is a quick and easy read, full of dominate and taboo elements. The instant attraction between the new girl in town and the local priest breaks all conventional rules with elements similar to The Scarlet Letter. Dante is a violent man, stalking Madison with a single-minded obsession which she welcomes in spite of her innocence. Certainly, there are sections which would be unrealistic. Once the truth comes out, Madison is ostracized from the town for being the woman who led their priest astray. Except for a few friends that support their relationship, Dante and Madison have their happily ever after.

Savage Little Games is the first in the Sin City Mafia series. It's a fantastic story between Dante, the mafia prince, and Vanessa who is one of the servers in his club. I love the tension building between these two as Vanessa refuses to give in to Dante's every whim. It's good for him to finally meet his match in Vanessa. A single mother with a secret of her own, she is strong and independent.

Already attracted to her, Dante is confused, but intrigued with Vanessa because she doesn't put up with his player attitude. Tricked into living with Dante, Vanessa navigates the mafia world expertly, handling her new situation with finesse. The way she is determined to maintain a platonic relationship with him sets her apart from all the other women in Dante's life who basically cater to his every want. But when they do give in to the extreme chemistry between them, they have some very heated adventures!

By nature and career, he is a dominate force, controlling a majority of the criminal element in Vegas. Struggling to protect his family and Vanessa, Dante's love is tested as he learns to finally trust Vanessa.
